1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes the information collected, used, and protected when you use the Vangia mobile application ("App"). By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy and our Terms of Use.

2. Data We Collect

Data stored on your device only:

Journal and reflection entries
Mood and emotion logs
Favourite crystals and local preferences
Notification settings

Account & UGC data stored on our servers:

Apple Sign In user identifier and optional display name
Legacy account identifier (e-mail) when linked for credits and sessions
Credit balance, purchase history, ad-reward and daily-reward records
UGC session requests: topic text, selected guide, optional form fields, uploaded photos
Session status, interpretation results, and session history
Anonymous content reports (content ID, reason, optional description)

Health data (optional, via Apple Health only):

Step count, heart rate, sleep, and mindfulness data (read-only via HealthKit)
Displayed in the Wellness screen on your device and not uploaded to our servers

When you use AI-assisted analysis (e.g. stone or image insight), the submitted text or image is sent to the Groq API solely to generate a response. Groq does not use your content to train its models. Interactive card sessions load editorial content from our servers; your personal question or intention text stays on your device unless you submit a UGC session.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data for the following purposes:

Operating core App features and your account
Delivering UGC sessions, credits, rewards, and personalised home content
Processing in-app purchases and subscriptions via the Apple App Store
Reviewing reported content and enforcing our community standards
Debugging and improving App stability and security

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

Apple App Store / StoreKit: Subscription and purchase management
Apple HealthKit: Health data access (with user permission)
Google AdMob: Advertising for free-tier users
Groq API: Text processing for the AI analysis feature
Apple Push Notification Service (APNs): Motivational notifications

Each service operates under its own privacy policy. Apple's privacy policy is available at apple.com/legal/privacy. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Data Security & Retention

Personal wellness data (journal, mood, favourites) remains on your device. Account, credit, and UGC session data is stored on secure servers accessed over HTTPS. We retain server data only as long as needed to provide the service or comply with law. Uninstalling the App removes local data; server account data is deleted when you request account deletion.

6. User-Generated Content & Moderation

Apple App Store Guideline 1.2: Vangia includes user-submitted content (photos, text, session topics) and curated interactive experiences. We maintain the following safeguards:

In-app reporting: Users can report any grid item or service listing for inappropriate, misleading, spam, copyright, or other concerns.
Anonymous reports: Your identity is not disclosed to the reported content owner.
Review timeline: Valid reports are reviewed by our moderation team within 24 hours.
Enforcement: Content that violates our Terms of Use may be removed and associated accounts may be suspended or terminated.

7. Children's Privacy

This App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Your Rights

You can delete all in-app data directly from your device.
You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications.
You can revoke HealthKit access in iOS Settings → Health.
You can opt out of personalised ads via iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via an app update or in-app notification. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

11. Delete Your Account

To permanently delete your Vangia account (created via Apple Sign In) and all associated data, use one of the following methods:

In-App: Profile → Apple Account Card → "Permanently Delete Account".
Web: Use the Account Deletion Request Form.
Email: Send your Apple User ID to [email protected].

Deletion is irreversible. All personal data on our servers — including account identifiers, credit history, UGC sessions, and reports — will be permanently removed within 30 days.
